  This year’s baseball tournament kicked off with the preliminary round on Saturday, May 16, at Randall’s Island Ballpark, and concluded with the championship game and closing ceremony on Saturday, June 27. The final match pitted two powerhouse teams against each other: defending champion Sumitomo Corporation of the Americas (team name: Sumitomo), aiming for a second consecutive title, and KPMG LLP (team name: KPMG), hoping to reclaim the championship after a long hiatus. After a fiercely contested game worthy of the tournament’s finale, KPMG LLP narrowly prevailed and was crowned the champion. In addition, Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas) (team name: MIC) and MUFG Bank, Ltd. (team name: MUFG Reds) tied for third place. Following the final match, an awards ceremony and closing ceremony were held, during which the various awards were presented.

  A total of 11 teams participated this year, and every weekend since the season opener in May, numerous thrilling matches—from the preliminary rounds to the final tournament—took place at Randall’s Island Stadium.
