06/30/26

-
The U.S.-Japan Council (USJC) and the Japanese Medical Society of America (JMSA) are co-hosting a virtual webinar regarding the impact of menopause on women in leadership.
The webinar will be led by JMSA President Dr. Maki Kano-Lueckerath and JMSA Board member, Dr. Mio Sawai. This will be a bilingual presentation featuring live transcription in both English and Japanese.
The event will take place on Monday, June 29, from 7:00–8:30 PM ET. You can find full details on the Event Page (https://www.usjapancouncil.org/events/usjc-women-forum-peak-leadership-and-the-menopause-transition-science-strategy-and-empowerment/) and register via the Registration Form (https://usjc.wufoo.com/forms/s32nfdp0vjfnta/).
This webinar will examine the cultural differences in how menopause care is approached in Japan and the United States, including variation in public awareness, workplace conversation, treatment approaches, and social perceptions surrounding women’s health. The session aims to increase awareness early regarding perimenopause and menopause in order to help individuals seek appropriate support and strategies before symptoms significantly impact quality of life, performance, or career trajectory.
Open and relevant to all audiences – men are strongly encouraged to attend.
