Koh, a Japanese female artist, is one of the artists who display her artworks in the Nippon Club WEB Gallery. The Nippon Club, with sponsorship from Tokio Marine America, has acted as an intermediary to have Koh’s paintings displayed in the office of Sir Clive Gillinson, the Executive and Artistic Director of Carnegie Hall. The painting was installed last month in mid-February.
The artwork depicts Mr. Ryuichi Sakamoto, a world-renowned musician who passed away in March 2023.
Koh
Koh is a New York-based oil painter. Originally from Tokyo, Japan, she is one-sixteenth French. By the experiences of living in Europe and the US, she moved to New York in 2016 to explore people’s mindsets in an increasingly complex world that lies beyond culture and gender.
Through her oil painting, she expresses the concept of contradicting elements: life, death, and the complex psychological spaces in between. Her work is heavily influenced by the vibrant energy of New York City and captures the nuances of the world surrounding her and the complexities of life. She aims to communicate the idea of contradiction and spirituality that resonates with the viewers.
