The Nippon Club Web Gallery has been launched. Join us our virtual opening reception tonight at 7pm !!
We have launched The Nippon Club Web Gallery (https://nippongallery.nipponclub.org) today.
As a kick-off, from today, September 17 to October 14, with the cooperation of the Consulate-General of Japan in New York, The Nippon Club Open Call WEB Art Exhibition “Forward Together!” will be held to support the creative activities of artists living in the Tri-state area who were forced to stay home due to the new coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions. We have asked artists to submit artwork by making public calls on the Internet and have received 54 entries. After strict screening, 15 excellent works were selected. Now we would like to introduce the selected artists and their excellent works in “The Nippon Club WEB Gallery”, which is launched today.
Additionally, an “Ambassador’s Prize” showcases some of the outstanding works at the residence of the Consul General of Japan in New York. Although not open to the public, selected works will be seen by people visiting the official residence, and the exhibition will also be introduced on the Consulate’s SNS, etc. The display period will be from late October 2020 to late February 2021.
To introduce The Nippon Club WEB Gallery, we will hold a virtual opening reception tonight, Thursday, September 17, at 7pm. We would like to invite you to the virtual opening reception. The event will be held in Japanese, but The Nippon Club will be providing real-time subtitles in English through Wordly. This service converts a presenter’s spoken words into subtitles using AI translation in real time during the event provided by Zoom.
