This year’s Summer Festival, an annual event held every summer, was held on Wednesday, July 26 at the Nippon Club, and titled “Diva from Nashville, Home of Country Music,” featured country singer Zandi Holup from Nashville, Tennessee, the home of country music, as a performer.

In the first half of the event, Executive Chef Yasuoka of the Nippon Club served a sumptuous buffet of dishes perfect to cool off from the heat, including sushi and sashimi of tuna and other choice fish.

The second half of the event began with an opening remark by Mr. Tetsuo Kawate, President of the Nippon Club (President & CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas).) The emcee was Ms. Saori Goda, she was also the emcee of the Family Event this year. Entertainment was provided by Ms. Zandi Holup, who performed a total of eight songs, including the released song “Wait For You” and a cover of Dolly Parton’s 1973 hit song “Jolene.

The last event of the night was a raffle drawing for gorgeous prizes provided by our sponsors, and the party was closed with closing remarks by Mr. Maeda, Vice President & Assistant Secretary.
