【Event Report】Autumn Performing Arts Event 2025
“An Invitation to Japanese Traditional Performing Arts”~Pre-Event of “An Evening of Traditional Japanese Arts” at Carnegie Hall

This year, our annual autumn music event was held as two separate events titled “025 Autumn Performing Arts Event.” The first installment, “Masato Yamada KATARI~The Art of Storytelling: The Master-Disciple Story of Hideki Matsui,” took place on Friday, October 10, followed by the second installment, “An Invitation to Japanese Traditional Performing Arts,” on Wednesday, November 12, both at the Nippon  Club Tower. The event commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Maeda, VP & Assistant Secretary of the Nippon Club.

This event served as a pre-event for “An Evening of Traditional Japanese Arts,” held two days later on Friday, November 14 at Carnegie Hall. Kabuki actor Hayato Nakamura, along with the general producer and Kabuki Hayashi musician Denjiro Tanaka, discussed the highlights of the performance, how to enjoy Noh and Kabuki, as well as the impact of COVID-19 and the film “National Treasure,” and overseas performances.

Additionally, there was a tsuzumi drum workshop, where they invited Mr. Tetsuo Kawate, the president of the JCC Fund (President & CEO, Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas)), to take on the challenge.

Their stories were truly fascinating, and we were deeply impressed by their efforts to spread Japanese traditional performing arts around the world. The Nippon Club looks forward to rooting their endeavors.

Here’s a glimpse of the event.

At the networking reception, attendees enjoyed food and drinks while networking with fellow members and participants.

Mr. Hayato Nakamura and Mr. Denjiro Tanaka also joined the reception and kindly agreed to take photos with the participants. With over 70 attendees, including fans who traveled from Japan and other states, we were able to successfully conclude the event to great success.

This event at the Nippon Club Tower on 57th Street marked the final event held by the Nippon Club. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all member companies who sponsored this event. We sincerely thank everyone who participated, as well as Mr. Hayato Nakamura and Mr. Denjiro Tanaka, and all others who contributed to making this event possible.
