The Japan Parade will be held again this year on Saturday, May 9, starting at 1:00 pm at Central Park West in Manhattan. This year’s Grand Marshal is Acky Bright, a Japanese manga artist and illustrator, known for his intricate line work and “kawakakkoii” (cute and cool) aesthetic. Acky also designed Japan Parade’s very first official mascot, inspired by the cultures of both New York and Japan. Additionally, the cast of the 2.5D theater adaptation of the internationally beloved manga/anime series JUJUTSU KAISEN The Stage is coming all the way from Japan for the Japan Parade; special appearances by Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Toji Fushiguro, and Curse users.

We will be participating again this year as the “Nippon Club/JCCI Team” as we did last year, and we are looking for members who would like to walk in the parade with us and make the “festivities” more exciting. All participants will receive a special Nippon Club/JCCI T-shirt to wear in the parade. Participants may also wear yukata or happi coats as an option (please note that we cannot provide a place to change clothes). Participants must be members of the Nippon Club or JCCI (including family members). You are also welcome to join the parade with your family and/or friends even though they are non-members. Children are also welcome. Children can wear their favorite Halloween costumes, princess dresses, etc., in addition to the T-shirts and yukata.
