Practicing tea ceremony also can create a very mindful and soothing time especially amid of a stressful and busy life, as it is sometimes called “moving meditation.” Further, you can enjoy the taste of high-quality matcha green tea and Japanese sweets in the class! Please join us and immerse yourself in the world of “harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility” of tea ceremony.

Sosen Onishi
ONISHI Sousen is a certified instructor of Omote-Senke school of Japanese tea ceremony, and she has been practicing tea ceremony for 18 years. Sousen started teaching tea ceremony classes at Nippon Club in 2017, and she has led tea ceremony events for the public and private groups at various venues including Nippon Club. She also has taught undergraduate and graduate courses such as (intercultural) communication, languages, and research methodology in colleges in Japan and USA. She incorporates her academic expertise into her attempt of deepening and expanding students’ understanding of the Japanese culture through tea ceremony.

The registration fee is $50 for non-Nippon Club members, $25 for a Nippon Club member.The registration fee is for the first time only. $15 will be charged as a renewal fee after one year.
