【Call for entries】The Nippon Club Open Call for WEB Art Exhibition “Forward Together!”
In order to support the creative activities of artists living in the tri state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, who were forced to stay home due to the new coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions, The Nippon Club will hold “The Nippon Club Open Call for WEB Art Exhibition”, in which we ask artists to submit art work by making public calls on the Internet.
The works Paintings (including a woodcut print, a copperplate engraving, an etching, a lithograph, cutout and Chigiri-e), Sculptures and Crafts must be self-created with a purpose of introducing Japanese culture, US-Japan cultural exchange, or supporting everyone during the pandemic. 15 excellent works will be posted on The Nippon Club’s WEB Gallery for approximately one month. At the exhibition’s conclusion, this exhibition will be archived on The Nippon Club’s WEB Gallery. A $1,000 award will be given to each of the chosen works.
Additionally, an “Ambassador’s Prize”, will showcase some of the outstanding works at the residence of the Consul General of Japan in New York. Although not open to the public, selected works will be seen by people visiting the official residence, and the exhibition will also be introduced on the Consulate’s SNS etc. The display period will be from late October to late February of next year. (*) The actual works of art will be exhibited. Please note that the delivery and display should be done by the artists themselves. The display period is subject to change depending on the circumstances. Place: 15 excellent works will be posted on The Nippon Club’s WEB gallery.
